How did the authors of the Simpsons used the article the lottery to do the Simpsons episode " hacking day " ?
The author or the creator of the Simpsons used a similar situation as the lottery but this time the problem wasn't that a person died but snakes where being tortured, and at the end we realized the means didn't justified the results. In the lottery the tradition is that the person that wins the lottery dies, on the Simpsons the tradition is a day in which people go out to hit snakes, the difference is that on the Simpsons people realize they are doing something wrong and that actually they need snakes to survive. I think the author used animals so people could feel more sensible and understand the problem. I also think that he was trying to criticize a lot of aspects of life where you can not chose your faith and you have to take the consequences even if you don't deserve them like the snakes on whacking day and the person that dies when he wins the lottery.
